"Nice Guys get the Shaft" and will continue to do so... until they read this book.

Every man must read this book that has ever wondered why the girls choose the jerks over them, even though that same girl has said she wants a "nice guy, that is sweet, supports me, provides for me, etc..."
This book doesn't teach you how to be a jerk to women, it teaches you how to be a man, which is what they want... This is why she chooses the jerk...
If you're still single and cant figure out why (you have a great job, money, car(s), you want kids, you're sweet, you're a gentleman, EVERYTHING you were told a woman wants), READ THIS BOOK. Same for married guys (like me) if you feel like you do everything for your family, but its underappreciated... Read this book. Thank Robert Glover and me later. Yes, I'm still married.

What every nice guy needs to hear

I came to this book after my wife asked me what my real goal in life was in the next couple of decades prior to retirement. I couldn't say, and couldn't even dredge up a dream that I thought was possible. It occurred to me that there was something wrong with that.
Upon reading through Glover's labor of love, I could identify quite a few "nice guy" characteristics in my own way of operating. By the end, I am excited to reread the book, do the activities, and engage in the transformation to become a more integrated man. Already, after trying on some of the tips, such as asking for what I want clearly and directly, I have experienced surprisingly positive consequences.
I had fallen into the trap of deprivation thinking, self-sufficiency, and not believing that I deserved what I wanted - that privileging my personal desires were illegitimate and wrong. This was magnified and rewarded by working in a non-profit, religious organization. I had become a liar to myself and others and cloaked it in a sinister false humility. My Mr. Nice Guy strategies worked well enough to keep things working just smoothly enough to persuade me that they were right, and when they didn't, I believed that it was simply my fault for failing to execute them properly.
Glover's book was illuminating with regard to how toxic all that was for me and those around me. It's high time to start living an authentic, integrated, whole life.

Everyone's a "Nice Guy"

This book is like the horoscope, the author describes the target audience very vaguely, and if it applies, "this book is for you." I will admit, I got a few pointers out of this, and some information to think about, but if you're an imperfect male, like all other males, this book will capture you by calling you a "nice guy," and then teaching you how you can fix it. Taken from this book, you might be a nice guy if: you like your car clean, you like to be in shape, you've ever watched porn, you've ever spent any amount of time fixing your hair before going out, etc. Sound like a horoscope yet? Makes me wonder if the author is just jealously targeting everyone who takes the time to acquire nicer things than him, that he can't have himself. Or maybe he's genuinely trying to help. What a nice guy!
